GESPARC AND THE SOGAFRIC GROUP UNVEIL THE E-LUX: A TOYOTA HILUX CONVERTED INTO A 100% ELECTRIC VEHICLE, DESIGNED FOR AFRICA

On June 11, 2025, on the tracks of the UTAC center in Oued Zem, Morocco, the SOGAFRIC Group unveiled the E-LUX, a 100% electric retrofitted Toyota Hilux. This visionary project marks an important milestone in the Group’s strategy to offer sustainable, robust, and Africa-adapted mobility solutions.

A pragmatic energy transition
The principle is simple and bold: transform an existing, robust, and widely used internal combustion vehicle — in this case, the Toyota Hilux — into a high-performance electric vehicle, rather than importing expensive and sometimes unsuitable new models. With a 160 kW motor, a 40 kWh battery, and a 190 km range in off-road conditions, the E-LUX retains all the off-road capabilities that made the Toyota Hilux famous, while eliminating local emissions.

A convincing demonstration
During the launch, guests — including partners, journalists, and professionals — had the opportunity to test the vehicle on the track and off-road. The verdict was unanimous: the E-LUX combines silence, smoothness, precision, and power, without sacrificing performance.

A vision driven by the SOGAFRIC Group
The E-LUX perfectly embodies the SOGAFRIC Group’s vision: to anticipate tomorrow’s challenges with concrete, responsible solutions grounded in the realities of the continent.

A pan-African industrial ambition
Beyond technological innovation, this project is part of an ambitious industrial approach. GESPARC plans to set up an assembly workshop in Libreville, Gabon, with the capacity to produce up to 200 kits per year, with possible expansions in Gabon and Morocco. The SOGAFRIC Group is thus committed to a local, sustainable, and economically viable approach.
